I guess we can agree to disagree. Before the fire, the land was pretty worthless unless someone was comfortable with living in a 7 MILLION dollar freaky castle.

you cougar you. …how could a piece of spectactular land at 7 MILLION dollars be so spectactular if it’s historic and hence can’t be knocked down, or modified? Seems like a 7MM heap of garbage. That just turned into a gold mine.

eeeh? If you notice my comments, I commented on the face that it was a phenomenal piece of land.

It’s one of the most desirable PIECES OF LAND on North Bay Road. In my original post, I didn’t mention the house because:
1. It had no value
2. It wasn’t appropriate, or professional to do so at the time.

What I want to know is why and how Kevin could have recommended this house just last week and now call it hideous and lay out all of the issues with it?!?!

And its not for the lot because it was protcected.

I have to agree kevin, I would like to know how the fire was started? Lets wait and see what MBFD has to say when they do there investigation! I know many people did not like this property but I did find it to be kinda of cool and a part of Miami Beach’s History! At least there is now a nice lot for a new home!!!

How in the world could you deduce the fact that they probably had AMAZING insurance????

Additionally, now, in theory, the property is worth more because the property is already gone! The city wouldn’t let anyone rip it down; it had protected status.

Ah, good juice Kev. Definitely a tough sale so inquiring minds want to know… who lit the fire? I would bet my last match they had adequate insurance. Highest & best use is now a given.
